Chairman’s Message
By Sharon Lukich, CPA
TXCPA Dallas has some great September events for you.
If you’re in need of credit to fulfill your Ethics requirement this month, on September 20, we hope you’ll join us for our in-person, State-approved, four-hour Ethics course, taught by Allison McLeod. The Brown Bag Lunch Serieson September 22, will feature Tom Walker, CFO of the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Just in time for the start of football season, Tom will entertain us all with his front-row insight into the workings of America’s Team.
If networking sounds good to you, take a breather with us on September 23, at Blue Mesa Grill for food, beverages and a chance to visit with your friends, old and new. Thirsty Thursday continues to be one of our most popular events, and we invite you to come out and enjoy it with us!
With September turning our thoughts to the start of a new school year, now is a great time to make a donation to TXCPA Dallas Scholarship Fund. Part of our organization’s vision is to promote accounting as a career, and one of our main avenues for accomplishing that has been through this scholarship program. Over the last 21 years, we have awarded over $200,000 to 140 deserving seniors and graduate accounting students in the North Texas area. We have accomplished this through the generous contributions of members like you. If you would like to have a hand in shaping the future of the accounting profession, as well as this association, please give to the TXCPA Dallas Scholarship fund.
Enjoy your September!

PAC Notes
Didn’t get fingerprinted yet?
The PAC has you covered.
Before TXCPA stepped in, every CPA in Texas – along with most other licensed professionals – had to have submitted fingerprints to the State Board of Accountancy by September 1 of this year. Let TXCPA CPA-PAC Chair Terri Hornberger explain here how the respect for our PAC helped change the deadline. Donate today to keep your profession strong.
