As the summer comes to a close and many kids settle into their new virtual learning routine, TXCPA Dallas is offering some great online events for adults too.
On September 15th, the Texas Oil & Gas Association holds a virtual Energy Summit. This event will feature remarks by Glenn Hegar, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, and Congressman Michael Burgess. September 14th will have a two-hour Cybersecurity Issues course presented by Peter Vogel of Foley & Lardner LLP, and Joshua Sandler and Sara Chelette of Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann, LLP. At noon on Friday, September 18th, Sharon Lukich from Thomas Edwards will present an hour-long CPE talk on Networking for Life. This is part of our Brown Bag Lunch Series, and we hope you’ll bring your lunch and join us by Zoom for this fun and informative presentation. Duncan Campbell of Baker Tilley will speak on Presidential Candidate Tax Proposals on October 29th. And save the date for November 5th, when Lucas LaChance and Sarah Godecke, both from Lane Gorman Trubitt, will speak on Auditing in the Time of COVID, and November 10th when Heather Bradshaw and Greg Pudenz of RSM discuss the New Section 263A UNICAP and New GILITI and FIDI Regulations, respectively.
On September 17th, you’ll want to join us for virtual Thirsty Thursday. In the beginning we were a bit skeptical about online networking, but this will be our third event, and we’ve enjoyed it so much, and the response has been so positive, we wonder why we ever hesitated! We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and be a part of our September get-together.
We are accepting applications now for our 2020 Leadership Development Academy. This is the Academy’s 12th year, and TXCPA Dallas is very proud of the many students we have graduated who went on to become accomplished leaders in their organizations, professions and communities. If you are, or you know of, someone who would make a good candidate for the class, this is the time to apply for admission. The deadline for applications is October 1st.
