OBJECTIVE:
The committee must monitor and maintain the Technology infrastructure of the Dallas CPA Society (DCPAS). This committee will receive direction from the Board of Directors through the Chair.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

• Annually review the committee's charge and recommend modifications to its objectives, responsibilities, and activities as necessary to accomplish the goals of the DCPAS Strategic Plan.
• The committee will be comprised of the Current Chair, Chair-Elect, Treasurer, Treasurer-Elect, and CPE Chairman. The Board may appoint a member to the committee who, in their opinion, is well-grounded in and has actual experience with the application of technology to business operations. The DCPAS Chair will act as chair of this committee.
• When necessary, hold monthly meetings as called by the Chair.
• Review all proposed technology initiatives including but not limited to the website, online CPE, electronic newsletter, and local area network. Initiatives reviewed include but are not limited to those that will change the web site, provide functionality to the members, or increase technology operating expenses for DCPAS.
• The committee will review all proposals along with functional and technical specifications as provided to the DCPAS by its vendors. The committee should advise the DCPAS staff on the implementation of technology yet the Executive Director is directly responsible for implementing the committee's decision with selected vendors.
• The committee will assist the DCPAS in finding, researching, and planning implementation of new technology as it applies to improving direct services to members.
• A Technology budget should be prepared by the DCPAS staff for the upcoming year to be presented to the Finance Committee. The committee should review and advise the Treasurer regarding this budget.
• The Committee should continually review the Technology budget and advise the Treasurer whether modifications of the budget are required for the remaining months of the fiscal year.
• Inquire into variations from the Technology budget and discuss such variations.
• Review the three-year financial projections in regard to Technology as prepared by the staff and give recommendations to the Strategic Planning Committee.
