Senior Accountant
Our client is a highly established and successful service-based company with $1 billion in annual run-rate, 5,000+ employees and approximately 300 locations across the US. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to be responsible for month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, monthly reporting and analysis, etc. This role must seek and execute process improvement strategies with a strong focus on internal customer service and effective communication with accounting leadership. Possible avenues for career progression starting as Senior Accountant with our client are in Operational Finance, Corporate FP&A, and Technical Accounting.

  • Prepare and record asset, liabilities, revenue and expenses journal entries by compiling and analyzing account/transaction information
  • Maintain balance sheet accounts by verifying, posting, reconciling and resolving transactions
  • Work among a team of corporate accountants to execute month-end close, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations and perform variance analysis
  • Analyze financial information and prepare accounting reports
  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Assist with developing, optimizing and documenting processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Provide responses to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 4 years’ accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
  • CPAand/or Master’s degree preferred

Chief Financial Officer

Klyde Warren Park is operated by the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, a 501 (C) 3, and opened in 2012. The Foundation manages the Park for the city of Dallas and has the responsibility to generate all revenue needed to operate, maintain, schedule and program the Park on an annual basis.

Reporting to the President, the chief financial officer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Foundation finances, accounting, human resources and company infrastructure to allow the organization to continue to grow and fulfill our mission. The position will oversee all non-profit compliance matters for the IRS, review all contracts, manage monthly payroll, conduct annual audits and working with the President and department heads to create an annual budget. The CFO will be the primary liaison and manager of the Klyde Warren Park/Dallas Arts District Public Improvement District and work with the President to achieve the Foundation's strategic goals.

Candidate Requirements: Licensed CPA with 5+ years recent experience in public accounting; ability to effectively communicate with clients; strong research skills; ability to supervise staff

  • Develop and maintain financial management policies and procedures that align with the organization's mission, ensuring IRS compliance and with all applicable accounting standards and non-profit best practices.
  • Supervise the work of the Staff Accountant to keep an accurate continuous record of the financial position of the Foundation and provide monthly financial reports and analysis to the Board and President.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating and capital budgets while working with department heads and the President.
  • Manage the Foundation investment account to ensure compliance with the Board approved investment strategy and maintain a close relationship with the investment management company.
  • Oversee all aspects of the KWP/DAD PID including quarterly reporting to the city of Dallas, annual audit, creation of the annual service plan and coordination with the Dallas Arts District
  • Review all transactions and contracts to maximize revenue and mitigate expenses.
  • Work with the Staff Accountant to manage accounts receivables and accounts payable to ensure positive cash flow.
  • Coordinate annual audit with external Accounting firm.
  • Supervise all human resource activity including all policy and procedures, new hire processing, employee benefits, performance management, payroll and terminations.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of insurance to protect the property and to cover liability of the Park.
  • Oversee all office administration including serving as the point of contact for the IT, phone and other office services contracts and vendors.
  • Oversee compilation of Board minutes, printed reports and scheduled distribution of materials for all Board meetings.
  • Monitor financial and HR trends in the non-profit field through continuing education and/or affiliation with professional development groups.
  • Broad support of the President and other duties as assigned by the President.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years of relevant experience with a similar size non-profit ($3-5M) or with a major accounting firm. A four year college degree and CPA license is required. Experience with Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge and Online Express is required.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Background check and drug testing will be performed at time of offer of employment.
